The Modification Conference took place on March 19-20. Here, the operator companies present their plans and the supplier industry can give their input.

A total of 1,500 modification projects are planned over the next 2-3 years. So activity is high! At the same time, suppliers warn that it is demanding to deliver according to wishes and plans. Competence and availability are demanding, as we are seeing a stagnation or decline in, for example, vocational certificates. At the same time, suppliers are clear that they want to innovate to improve their deliveries. This may involve technology or how to design contacts. "What customers consistently tell us is that you have to deliver on time and to the right quality. To achieve this, it is therefore important to rethink the collaboration between supplier and customer. The "One Team" model was mentioned. The FLX department in Equinor has worked intensively with this and was highlighted on several occasions. The idea is to get involved in projects at an early stage to avoid mistakes later in the process.

Some critics point out that this has been tried before, without significant results. It quickly becomes fancy words. They find it challenging to present new technology to customers.

It was also emphasized that trust is key and must be built. Praise and criticism must go both ways in the interests of the project. And there seems to be greater acceptance of this.
